The short version
RefStudy works on your own device. Your reference photos, drawings and projects are not uploaded to us. We only collect what's needed to send you emails you asked for, and, if you sign in, to remember your account and purchases.
This website
If you join the launch list, your email address is stored by our email provider, Kit, so we can email you about RefStudy. You can unsubscribe from any email at any time, and you can ask us to delete your address.
This site doesn't use advertising or tracking cookies. [If you add analytics later, say which service and what it collects here.]
The app
- Photos and projects. Images you open and projects you save stay on your device. All image processing happens on your device.
- Camera. On Android, the camera is used only when you choose a feature that needs it, such as Check my drawing or Camera check. Those images stay on your device.
- Accounts. [If sign-in is enabled:] When you sign in, we use Google Firebase to store your email address and whether you've bought the full version, so it can be unlocked on your other devices.
- Purchases. Purchases on Android are handled by Google Play. We receive a confirmation of the purchase, not your payment details.
What we don't do
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone except the services named above, which help run RefStudy.
Children
RefStudy isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, by emailing hello@refstudy.app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
